Most of This Is True is a movement-based multi-disciplinary quartet. I’m working with the dynamic tensions that characterize close relationships. Those dynamic tensions are made up of expectations, judgments, and stories about who the individual is in relationship to the other, and who the other is in relationship to the individual. I’m looking for structures that combine movement, text and video to expose those tensions in a way that is familiar enough to make the audience laugh, and stark enough to make the audience uncomfortable.
Most of This Is True is primarily motivated by movement, but theater, poetry and video are integral elements. What compels me most is not movement for its own sake, but rather how movement reveals a person/character/relationship.
